Maybe it not over, maybe it's not what you thought and if it's not what are you going to do about it, I'm sitting here writing a song about it. Maybe it's not meant to be and what does that even mean? Eric said it's tragic that his family remembers a different past, he grew his nails to look like he could play guitar, he got it wrong, so wrong ah ah ah do do do As the sun sets over the valley try not to have any regrets, its easier to say that act upon but you have got to try, I know exactly where you're coming from yeah I know what it's like, I got it wrong so wrong ah ah ah do do. We got it wrong, so what, ah ah ah do do do

So Quiet 03:28
Young at heart but getting on, your bones don't feel as strong, your skin ever glowing, all the fun you've had is showing now, it's high time we got real she says go on tell me another one, you know you love it. I know that feeling, it suddenly just hits, you never see it coming its like a ton of bricks, and all the little noise around you fades into the background, you can turn it down but never can quite tune it out completely I found out the long way round that dreams don't come true they come out of the blue. They'd always tell me but I was too young and too dumb to listen, we all know that hindsite is 20/20 vision but I'll be blind until I find my way in through the side door but by then it's too late and I'll be wishing I was back inside that nightmare, la da da da da da Don't give me your heart I'll break it you know I'll only ever let you down.

Sweet Tooth 04:22
This one's just like the last one and on that I'm going to run, concrete thoughts that only ever lead to dead ends I wanna know, I wanna know what I was thinking, what we were thinking. Tarting up and sugarcoating does one no good, a true friend speaks the truth even when it can hurt the most I wanna know, I wanna know what we were thinking, what we were drinking. Coming off the high horse can be worse than coming down, everything comes spinning back around like vinyl I wanna know, oh oh oh What we were drinking, what we were taking It's just like a dream you know it's not real you can't stop the way the feeling makes you feel, you don't even need to listen you see you're already smitten because you're meant to be, it's just like a dream ethereal, you can't help the way that it's making you feel, you don't even need to listen you see you're already smitten because you're meant to be I wanna know what I've been missing

In these ancient haunts where the poets walked, in the heart of this rare old town, they eaves dropped on drink talk that's always the best for the ink and the truth to come out. All the boys in the back hall poisoning their lungs with tobacco unknowingly, though we know better these days the attraction's the same there's just too much to make from the tax From the tax, think about that, think about that every time you take a drag. It was America in the 30s the 1930s when old Harry J. Ansliger went on a mission after the failure of prohibition and here we are nearly a century later. The scientist brings all the reasons and rhyming but it just doesn't fill the bill so they ask for his resignation or fire him it's the same thing and the pretext goes to print with the spin. Equasy, ecstasy, equasy, ecstasy, equally They say horses for courses but only if it goes with their wonted archaic ways, so if they don't understand it then ban it but we can all drink till we die if we like. Saw a chef at the back of a restaurant smoking after a seventeen hour shift being questioned by police, he was searched and then subsequently fined while just across the street Some six-foot brick shit houses were pounding the shit out of each other over a place in line while the rest of the queue just stand in amusement and capture it all for the Sunday morning feed. And the rest as they say is history.

It starts in the dark corner of the garden where it's dangerous to play, you're scared because you're told that but you really don't know that and the curiosity would've killed you anyway. And it turns out sometimes that it is dangerous alright but you live to tell the tale, if I'd never have explored into the back of that garden I'd never have stood on that nail but I'd have no stories to tell. Baby don't hold back you might never get this feeling back it's not always as it seems, it's better to fail than to squander and don't ever let yourself think that it's too late to dream but mind sometimes that's all they will be. Don't sit on the fence 'til it starts to make sense, you'll never get anywhere and if your heart gets broken don't be alarmed, all of our hearts get broken sometimes, it'll be aright. Uncle Danny and I got caught getting high and drinking in the park by the railway station, we both sobered up when the cell door shut and we talked about everything. They say a good friend will bail you out in the morning and a true friend would be in your place but the truth is we're both just stupid for getting caught in the first place. When you've been burnt before it's hard to ignore the false alarm bells in your head but you'll end up running from the same things you're chasing like love, the answer, your dreams and the weather, with your shoe laces tied together

Woah my baby left me out in the rain without a penny to my name, and if she'd only let me explain that I only lied because I didn't want to break her heart again So I took her flowers and she said they'll be dead by the time she's over me, she's over me. So I phoned and phoned and phoned until she answered and when she finally did she said there's no chance and stop calling me, so I wrote her a letter and I got it back sealed, said return to sender, so I wrote her poem and I slipped it under her door myself, no sleeve! and she got back to me with a poem of her own So I put all the words that we wrote to the first melody that came to me, that came to me I put that to tape and I raced it along to the radio station I know that she listened to, that's when she came round, that's when she came round, words and music won my baby back
